Function and Description of Deflagration Type in Line

The PRECON ® 20502 in-line deflagration flame arrester provides protection against confined deflagration in enclosed pipe line. When installing the deflagration flame arrester, make sure that the distance between potential ignition sources and the location of the installed Flame Arrester , does not exceed the Lu/D ratio ( pipe length/pipe diameter), for which the device was tested. The installation of the deflagration flame arrester into horizontal and vertical pipes is permissible.The deflagration flame arrester is symmetrical and offers bidirectional flame transmission protection.

The Flame Arrester consists of two housing parts and the PRECON® flame arrester Element in the center. The PRECON® flame arrester unit consists of multiple layers of Flame Arrester element and spacers assembled in an arrester (Element) housing.  The number of Flame Arrester element and Flame Quenching Diameter depends on the size of Flame Arrester and the Explosion Group.The design can be used with Operating Pressure range up to 1.1bara, operating temperature range up to + 60°C.Type-approved in accordance with the ATEX Directive and EN ISO 16852 for Explosion group IIB3/IIC.

The PRECON 20502 In-line deflagration flame arresters are also available with eccentric housing to drain condensate build up in the housing. Due to its eccentric design the device can be installed in pipelines that close to floors or walls and low points, where condensate can collect within the piping system, can be avoided.
